REPORTING INCIDENT GUIDELINES

(advice taken from Safer South Derbyshire Partnership)*:
Emergencies: dial 999  for emergencies, or when a crime is inprogress, such as:

  • use of threat or violence
  • threatening behaviour
  • criminal damage
  • drug dealing
  • dangerous driving
  • danger to life
  • a person is seriously injured
  • an offender is still at the scene, or
  • there is a crime just about to be committed
Police Non-Emergency,
and for local beat officer,

  • to report all non-emergencies
  • to speak to a local officer
  • to report information about a crime or incident, or
  • other non-urgent enquiries
